A former Qatari princess was found dead at her home.

According to French newspaper Le Parisien, Kasia Gallanio was found dead by Spanish police on Sunday.

The body of the 45-year-old ex-wife of Abdelaziz bin Khalifa Al-Thani, 73, the uncle of the Emir of Qatar, has been found at her home in Marbella.

She married the Qatari King in 2004 and they had three daughters together.

However, the two engaged in a bitter custody battle for 10 years after allegations surfaced that he sexually assaulted their eldest child.

He has always denied these allegations.

After Gallanio was denied custody of their three children, they lived with their father on the luxurious Avenue Montaigne in Paris.

Born in Los Angeles and of Polish descent, Gallanio was residing in one of the couple’s numerous homes at the time.

She has dealt with both depression and drinking problems.

An autopsy is still pending, but initial investigations suggest she died of a drug overdose.

The French newspaper also reported that there had been no signs of physical violence.

Her ex-husband has lived in France since 1992, when he was forced into exile over an alleged coup against the Qatari leader.
