The death of her niece broke Oti Mabuse’s heart.

The former Strictly Come Dancing pro took to Instagram today to pay tribute to her beloved Tlhogi, who has passed away aged 28.

Dancing On Ice judge Oti, 31, shared a series of beautiful snaps of them together as she called Tlhogi her “sister” and “best friend”.

She wrote: “How was that the last time I held you in my arms. I’m so shaken inside I can’t even begin to describe the pain. It shouldn’t work like that.

“We had plans together to travel the world and dance on a beach in Jamaica for my birthday. Ever since we were 8 years old, I’ve picked you up from daycare, from swimming, from chess every day. You were only 28 and yet the nicest, sweetest person in my life! I lost my niece, my little sister, my best friend”

Oti said her niece is her ‘best friend’

The devastated star continued, “Life has dealt you the toughest card but you always chose to win, you always fought to come out the other side with a smile on your face.

“I love you with all my heart and now you’re gone and I feel lost in more ways than one by a pain I’ve never felt before I’m still calling and texting you and trying to understand — how.” ? Why?

“May you rest in peace and have strength my sweet Tlhogi, greet Koko, Abuti Neo Le Malume Tshepo. I promise to take care of Sesi, Nanikie and Mpho for you x”

Strictly star Karen Hauer, who rallied around her, commented: “I love you. Sending all my love to you and your family.”

And Dianne Buswell added: “I’m sorry for your loss, oti xxxxx sending lots of love”.

The tragedy comes at a time when Oti’s career is taking off, which no doubt makes her loved ones incredibly proud.

I’ve been a part of the most amazing TV show, Strictly Come Dancing, for the last seven years and it’s been an amazing time. Raise the glitter ball twice and have the best trip with all my celebrities but also meet and work with the best team, crew, producers, celebs and incredible professional dancers!

“You are my family and I adore you all forever. Thank you @sarahjamesface @jack.will.g and @jasongilkison for believing in me.”
