AN Post has reminded customers that there are only a few days left until Christmas – so if you’re planning on sending gifts at home and abroad, you’d better act fast.
Monday 20 December is the last day to send cards and parcels to the UK and cards and parcels to an Irish address must be delivered by Thursday 23 December.
And Saturday, December 18 is the last chance to send a letter to the rest of Europe.
There will be a full nationwide mailing and pickup service on Saturday, December 18, and Post Offices will remain open until 5:30 p.m. Saturday for businesses to post and buy Christmas presents.
NO MAIL COLLECTION
Mail will not be accepted on December 24 and will not receive or deliver mail on December 28.
An Post has also provided some helpful advice for greetings and parcel senders to pack parcels correctly and safely, always address mail in capital letters or with printed labels, and always include Include the sender’s name and address in the top left corner of the item.
An Post’s national network processes about two million mail items a day, a number that triples as the Christmas break approaches.
