‘Excellent and brave’ British journalist with ‘serious injuries’ ‘in ICU’ in Ukraine – World News

A “brilliant and brilliant” British journalist is in intensive care after being injured in Ukraine, a top official has said.

Benjamin Hall, a foreign affairs correspondent for Fox News, was not in a military facility when he was “seriously injured”.

The details are yet to be established.

It comes a day after American journalist Brent Renaud died after allegedly being shot by Russian forces.

In a statement, Fox News confirmed that the father of three, Mr. Hall, was injured, but did not comment on the severity.

“Earlier today, our reporter Benjamin Hall was injured while reporting outside Kyiv, Ukraine.

Mr. Hall was gathering information outside Kyiv when the incident happened



“We currently have very few details, but Ben is hospitalized and our teams on the ground are working to gather additional information as the situation rapidly unfolds.”

Host Kayleigh McEnany posted on Twitter: “Please say prayers for @BenjaminHallFNC, our brilliant and brave @FoxNews reporter who was injured in Ukraine..”

Reporter Garret Tenney wrote: “My heart breaks for @BenjaminHallFNC, his wife and their three young children.

“Praying for him, them, and the rest of our teams in Ukraine.”

Ukraine’s prosecutor general, Irina Venediktova, said that a British journalist was being “in intensive care under the supervision of doctors”.

She posted on Facebook: “This man is not at a military facility, which, according to Russian officials, are being repeatedly targeted.

“Not in the military medic, he was seriously injured.”

Fox News said: “The safety of our entire team of reporters in Ukraine and the surrounding area is our first and foremost priority.

“This is a stark reminder to all journalists who are putting their lives on the line every day reporting from a war zone.”

Earlier today, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky paid tribute to award-winning video journalist Brent Renaud, who passed away yesterday.

He wrote: “My sincere condolences to the family of Brent Renaud, who lost his life documenting the cruelty and crimes committed by Russia to the people of Ukraine.

“May Brent’s life and sacrifice inspire the world to stand up in the battle for the forces of light against the forces of darkness.”

Renaud, a famous American filmmaker, was killed on Sunday after Russian forces opened fire on his vehicle near the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.
