EXCLUSIVE gain 16-1 Willie Mullins double headed by Ferny Hollow

The 2022 Cheltenham Festival is fast approaching and we are starting to find out how the market for the summit races can explode.

Some feel like the unappealing wager offers already – anyone want to take part in the high-stakes favorite Honeysuckle competition in Champion Hurdle?

That said, there’s a lot of value to be found elsewhere and it’s time to start properly filling out portfolios before signing up.

There will be fights and misses, with important meetings in the run-up to the Festival and almost inevitable injuries to face.

But all is well, we will start with a few good pre-hand positions.

With the Dublin Racing Festival fast approaching, it’s the right time to dive into the Cheltenham markets.

The big names will clash at Leopardstown next weekend and they will also have some serious shake-ups coming up to Cheltenham.

So I’m looking to get a pair of Willie Mullins-trained horses, before we can see them in the final pre-festival races.

First up is Ferny Hollow, who will attend Arkle this time in two weeks if he wins one of his potential skirmishes at Leopardstown.

He’s more likely to appear in Irish Arkle than in Dublin Chase but he should love either of the two he appears in.

He’s an 11/10 of Arkle now and I think that could look like a serious value in the long run.

He made a big impression on me at Leopardstown for Christmas, where he beat a plush mare on the Riviere d’Etel despite her lofty allowable weight.

He’s becoming something of a series winner but remains unexposed in most fences and should only improve once again from what we’ve seen.

He will create a double in the first leg alongside another talented member of the Mullins – Redemption Day.

Champion Bumper is shaping up to be a disruptor with American Mike and Facile Vega leading the market after impressive performances this winter.

However, the price difference between those two and Redemption Day is too much for me to ignore and so I’m going to take Paddy’s 6/1 and pair it with Ferny Hollow.

Patrick Mullins barely moved a muscle as he guided Redemption Day to his first success at Leopardstown last month.

It’s often said that an impressive winner didn’t get out of second gear – I’m not sure Days of Redemption made it out of first gear.

Apparently there was a larger amount in the tank that day when he got rid of a well-regarded young horse of Gordon Elliott’s.

There’s clearly a lot more to come and the Class 2 bumper at the Dublin Racing festival could be next.

That could mean a clash with, or both, the American Mike and Facile Vega and a serious shakeup in the Champion Bumper market.

Now is the time to get started.
