Scientists have been quick to dismiss a conspiracy theory that an image taken by NASA’s Curiosity rover shows an opening to a secret passage on Mars. The Telegraph said the grainy image captured last week by the rover’s mast-mounted camera appears to show an opening with a cambered lintel leading to a smooth-walled passageway. But Sanjeev Gupta, a professor of geosciences at Imperial College London, said the hole was formed by “normal geological processes”.

One of the rarest birds in the world has reportedly been sighted by a mother in Lancashire itv. The “pink dove” that flew around a Nelson neighborhood may have been a Nesoenas mayeri – a bird native to Mautitius and one of only 500 left in the world. “I think everyone was really shocked,” said Kelly Lunney, who took pictures of the creature. “Skeptics believe the bird was simply dyed pink instead,” ITV said.
Parents sue son for failing to father grandchild
An Indian couple have sued their son, demanding he and his wife father a child within a year or pay them Rs 50 million (£529,000) in compensation. DW reported that Sanjeev and Sadhana Prasad had petitioned a court in the city of Haridwar in northern Uttarakhand state. The filing said her son and his wife, who live in different cities because of work, have been married for six years, “but they are still not planning a baby.” It added that “at least when we have a grandchild to spend time with, our pain becomes bearable.”
