Services giant EY is acquiring technology consultancy Client Solutions to expand its digital beat.
Y announced on Thursday the signing of a share purchase agreement, which is subject to antitrust clearance.
Client Solution employs more than 240 people and advises its blue-chip clients on technology gaps, digital change and transformation.
EY currently has teams in over 150 countries advising clients on a range of topics including legal, strategy, tax and transactions.
The merger will expand EY’s technology offering for customers, including software development and intelligent automation, the company said in a statement.
“Increasingly, clients are looking for guidance on how to innovate and transform their business models,” said Frank O’Keeffe, Managing Partner of EY Ireland.
“The potential acquisition of Client Solutions is extremely exciting for EY and is in line with our ambitious growth strategy. We believe Client Solutions will be a great fit for EY clients as we improve our service offering and suite of business solutions.
“The Client Solutions team has a solid reputation in the marketplace and their skillset will complement the existing technology advisory skills of the EY teams.”
Barry McCarthy, Head of Consulting at EY Ireland, said the potential acquisition will drive the continued growth of the consulting business.
“What we do best is to ensure our customers continue to have access to innovative ideas, technologies and systems that help them achieve their business goals while creating long-term, sustainable value.”
Client Solutions chief executive Teddy McCarthy said the merger will “further advance our culture of continuous improvement and innovation to deliver outstanding technology solutions for businesses.”
