F1 2022 announced with VR support, coming this July

F1 22 will be released on July 1st for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S and PC.

Publisher EA has promised that the new game will bring the biggest shock in over a decade, with new features including VR support on PC through the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

F1 22 will also feature “expanded gameplay options” including sprint races, new customization options to change formation laps, safety car periods and pit stops, and adaptive AI to match the player’s skill level.

In an immersive, customizable hub world called F1 Life, players can show off and admire their collection of supercars, apparel and accessories they earn throughout the game.

Tracks have also been updated to match the 2022 season, including updates for Abu Dhabi, Australia and Spain, and the addition of the inaugural Miami Grand Prix.

“Alongside the real-world changes, we’ve updated the physics to match the new aero rules and revised the tire model to make the handling more lifelike,” said Lee Mather, creative director at developer Codemasters.
