F1 Manager 2022 Guide: Best Teams for Beginners

F1 MANAGER 2022 lets you take the wheel of your very own Formula 1 team, but some are better than others.

You might be tempted to play as your favorite team and help them reach for the stars, but if you’re a beginner this might not be the best strategy.

For a smooth start into the world of Formula 1 management, here are the teams we recommend depending on how much you like the challenge.

How to win the Grand Prix in F1 Manager?

If you want to start with a Grand Prix win, these are the teams that will have you racing to the top.

Ferrari – start statistics

  • Goal for the season: Constructors’ World Champion
  • Long-term goal: Constructors’ World Champion
  • Budget: high
  • Car: 10/10
  • Headquarters: 8/10
  • Drivers: Charles Leclerc (88) and Carlos Sainz (87)

Ferrari may aim high, but they have the right tools to give them the best chance of success.

You start with the best car from one of the teams and lots of money to spend in the trunk.

The center is also very well equipped and you start with a solid pair of drivers.

Red Bull – start statistics

  • Goal for the season: Constructors’ World Champion
  • Long-term goal: Constructors’ World Champion
  • Budget: high
  • Car: 9/10
  • Central comparison: 10/10
  • Drivers: Max Verstappen (90) and Sergio Perez (87)

Verstappen will start you as the defending drivers’ champion, but you still have work to do to win the Constructors’ Championship.

While Red Bull’s cars aren’t quite as quick as Ferrari’s, the Italians don’t have a driver like Verstappen to use their tools.

Red Bull’s HQ is also top-notch, allowing the team to put their large budget to good use.

Perez can lag a bit behind Verstappen and the Ferrari boys so beating Ferrari can be a bit difficult but possible if you play your cars right.

Which teams can get on the podium in F1 Manager 2022?

These teams may not rocket you to the top right away, but with the right investments, it’s possible to make it onto the podium.

The races on this level become more exciting as you attack as well as defend.

Mercedes – start statistics

  • Goal for the season: 3rd place
  • Long-term goal: Constructors’ World Champion
  • Budget: high
  • Car: 8/10
  • Headquarters: 9/10
  • Drivers: Lewis Hamilton (90) and George Russell (86)

Mercedes has a good force behind it, with the right drivers, the right budget, the right cars and the right headquarters to make waves.

Unfortunately, you’re starting the season from the back, so you’re only fighting for the podium, not the crown.

Alfa Romeo – starting statistics

  • Goal for the season: 5th place
  • Long-term goal: podium contender
  • Budget: Low
  • Car: 7/10
  • Headquarters: 2/10
  • Riders: Valtteri Bottas (87) and Zhou Guanyu (79)

If you’re looking for a little challenge while maintaining a chance of a place on the podium, then Alfa Romeo is the team for you.

The budget and HQ might not be the best but you have a great car and some solid drivers to start the season.

With the right development, Alfa Romeo can maintain its good form and even catch up with the leading teams.

Which team should I select to get up from behind in F1 Manager 2022?

The above teams can give you a win in a relatively short amount of time, but those looking for the satisfaction of taking a team to the top from the bottom have other choices to make.

Some teams in F1 Manager feel that no matter how well your decisions are made, there is no way to win.

Below are the teams we recommend if you want to slowly work your way up to the top.

McLaren

  • Goal for the season: 4th place
  • Long-term goal: Constructors’ World Champion
  • Budget: medium
  • Auto: 3/10
  • Headquarters: 6/10
  • Drivers: Lando Norris (86) and Daniel Ricciardo (84)

McLaren aims for glory, but if you choose this team, you start with a tractor.

The first season will be tough as you desperately try to build a better car, but the payoff will be sweet.

alpine

  • Goal for the season: 4th place
  • Long-term goal: Constructors’ World Champion
  • Budget: high
  • Car: 5/10
  • Headquarters: 3/10
  • Drivers: Fernando Alonso (85) and Esteban Ocon (85)

If you want to race with the Alpines, some money has to flow into the headquarters to make your dreams come true.

But that starts with the possible budget – you just have to make the right decisions.

Alpha Tauri

  • Goal for the season: 6th place
  • Long-term goal: podium contender
  • Budget: Medium
  • Car: 5/10
  • Headquarters: 4/10
  • Riders: Pierre Gasly (84) and Yuki Tsunoda (77)

Alpha Tauri is one of the most difficult teams to manage as it needs a bit of development in all areas of this decidedly average team.

Finding this out for yourself, however, can be its own reward.

Aston-Martin

  • Goal for the season: 8th place
  • Long-term goal: points contenders
  • Budget: high
  • Auto: 1/10
  • Headquarters: 6/10
  • Drivers: Sebastian Vettel (82) and Lance Stroll (79)

Aston Martin makes an interesting choice. With a premium budget but little else, you feel like you’re building your team from the ground up.

The difference between Martin and Williams is that you actually have the budget for it.
