Some social media users are reporting problems with Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp this morning.
Some users reported that they were unable to access the services, all of which are powered by the Meta company.
Around 2,700 outages had been reported on Instagram and over 2,000 outages on the Facebook app by 10am, according to website Downdetector.ie, which tracks problems on websites in the island of Ireland in real time.
Some users also reported that WhatsApp was affected by the outages.
All the apps now appear to be fully functional again as people across the world took to Twitter to joke about the issues, with the hashtags “Facebookdown” and “Instagramdown” both trending on the platform.
In response, a meta spokesperson said: “We are aware that some people in Ireland are having difficulty accessing our products.
“Earlier today a technical issue caused some people to have trouble accessing our apps and services.
“We resolved the issue for all concerned as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience.”
