Facebook bans millions of profile features – check your account now
YOU may notice that something is missing from your Facebook profile next month.
The tech giant is removing four small but arguably significant bits of information — and not everyone is pleased.

Meta, which owns Facebook, has begun informing billions of users that it is withdrawing religious views, political views, interests and address parts.
You can find this hidden on the about page of your profile.
According to Facebook, the four fields will disappear on December 1st.
A warning sent to users warns: “Starting December 1, 2022, the following information you shared on your profile under About > Contact Us and Basic Info will be removed.
“Your other information will remain on your profile along with the rest of your contact and basic information.”
It’s not clear why Facebook is removing these options.
But some people didn’t take the news well.
“Has anyone else received this notification from their Facebook profile?” wrote one on Twitter.
“Why? Because people take offense at each other because of their opposing views or religions?”
Another added: “Facebook appears to restrict religious views.”
Others were less sure of the move.
“Facebook removes bio information from accounts that contain political views, religious views, and information about whether you are interested in men or women,” one user commented.
“Is that an improvement? Are they trying to lure people back?”
A fourth person said: “Sooooooo Facebook doesn’t want to encourage ideological divisions and extremism… so tick ‘interested in’ political and religious views.
“seems like a plaster for a serious wound.”
