Facebook ‘DOWN’ – Thousands of users say the app isn’t working in a mysterious outage

FACEBOOK was reportedly hit by an outage that left some users unable to log in.

It’s not clear what caused the problem, but it only seems to have affected a small number of users so far.

That DownDetector The website showed a spike in reports Thursday morning.

“Is Facebook still down? I still can’t log in,” one user tweeted.

Users trying to sign in will see a message that reads, “Facebook is currently down for required maintenance, but you should be able to turn back on in a few minutes.

“In the meantime, read more about why you’re seeing this message.

“Thank you for your patience while we improve the site.”

The mysterious issue appears to be wreaking havoc on other apps that rely on it, like Pokemon Go.

Niantic, the maker of the popular game, tweeted: “Due to an issue that may be caused by Facebook, some users are having trouble logging into Pokémon GO. Pikmin bloom or Ingress via Facebook.

“If you have linked other accounts, please sign in with them or try again later.

“Thanks for your patience.”

But oddly, Facebook’s own service status page doesn’t show any known issues.

“The service is running with no known issues,” it says.

DownDetector currently shows 40 percent of reported issues related to Facebook login and 45 percent related to the site itself.

So far it doesn’t seem to be widespread.
