Fair City star Ryan Andrews calls dad ‘absolute legend’ as he marks one year since dad was admitted to ICU with Covid

FAIR City star Ryan Andrews has called his father an “absolute legend” as he marks a year since he joined the ICU with Covid-19.
Last year, the actor who played Sean Cassidy in the hit movie RTE, revealed that his father spent five weeks in intensive care after he contracted the virus.
Today, he took to his Instagram to share a photo with his father to mark one year since he was released.
In the photo he shared, he and his dad are at Portmarnock beach and both have huge smiles on their faces.
Ryan is wearing a split-second gray frock while his dad Jimmy wears a dark green jacket over a black jumper.
The Dublin native captioned the snap: “On this day last year, my dad was admitted to the ICU at Mater Hospital.
“A story that I’ve been sharing for the past few months but never accurately describes how dark some of those days really are!
“My Dad is honestly a true example of what Inner Strength, Positive Attitude, Absolute Determination (when everything is going against you) can do for you!
“Gewaaann Jimmy – you are absolute legend!”
Ryan’s fans and friends flooded his Instagram comments with love for the post as they said his dad looks great.
Caroline commented: “Your dad looks great, keep up the good work.”
Lynn said, “Looks great. I didn’t realize Jimmy was your Da.”
Lorraine wrote: “Jimmy looks brilliant.”
While Lucy also commented: “Thank god he made it through and looks great.”
‘HARDEST START’
This comes later Ryan recently said it had “the hardest start” next year but he also had “some of the highest scores of his life” by the end of 2021.
He has shared many photos with his partner Michaela O’Neill to whom he became engaged this summer.
Ryan also posed with his father, who contracted Covid-19 earlier this year and who is in the ICU trying to recover after that.
The Dublin star, earlier this year, shared a video of his dad finally leaving the hospital and he’s been updating followers on his dad’s condition throughout the year.
Also in the Instagram post is a moment of him along with several other contestants taking part in the celebrity edition of Ultimate Hell Week.
RYAN REACTIONS
Ryan captioned these short passages: “The year 2021 – from the hardest start to any year and certainly the most challenging few weeks to some of the highest points of my life – definitely was an unforgettable year in retrospect!
“Sometimes the New Year isn’t about planning for the next year – really looking back over the past 12 months and seeing how far you’ve come and what you’ve achieved!
“I have absolutely no idea how 2022 will turn out but I’m always ready to give everything I have! Happy New Year!”
