Fall Guys finally has a release date for Xbox and Switch, and it’s free to play
Fall Guys, the family-friendly battle royale that launched back in 2020 to immense success, is free to play on June 21st. While that’s big news for the game itself, the folks at Mediatonic have also announced that the title will be coming to Xbox, Nintendo Switch and the Epic Games Store alongside the free version.
If you’re feeling a little left out as a PlayStation player, don’t worry! A PS5 version is also set to be released alongside the others. If you have friends spread across different platforms, you can run the gauntlet alongside them as crossplay and cross-progression are included in all of the above.
Those who purchase Fall Guys before June 21st or have been a die-hard fan of the game since its release will receive a free Legacy Pack containing the following cosmetics:
- a nickname,
- A nameplate
- The royal costume
- The Veggie Dog costume
- The Feisty Dwarf costume
- A Season Pass for Season 1!
Season 1 kicks off with the free-to-play launch in June, which will bring new costumes and challenges to the game. Alongside this, a premium version of the Battle Pass will also be available, allowing players to earn additional cosmetics. There are 100 levels in this pass, and those who max it out can earn the next Season Pass, which is sure to be enticing for die-hard Fall Guys players.
The game also has pre-registration for those who want to pick up the game on these new platforms. The Mediatonic team has set pre-reg goals that the community must achieve for additional rewards. These include another name tag, extra kudos (in-game currency), a burger pattern for your bean, a muscle man emote, and the bowler hat costume.
All in all, it’s great news for Fall Guys players who should now have a larger community to play with, as well as a care pack with new rewards to thank them for their support since the game first released in August 2020. The game is still brilliant, by the way, since it has added an incredible amount of new content since the game’s popularity peaked. If you haven’t played it or haven’t thought to start it in a while, then mark June 21st on your calendar.
