Kaitlyn Davies and Ben Rogers, both 19, died at the scene in Northway Garage, Bishopston, Swansea on the evening of May 31.

A 17-year-old boy and girl were also injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

A single vehicle was involved in the collision, a red Alfa Romeo Mito with four people in it.

The teenagers’ families, both from the Swansea area, have paid tribute to them.

Ms Davies’ family said: “Kaitlyn, our bright, vivacious, kind, caring girl, her smile was brighter than the sun and lit up every room you walked into.

“To say we are devastated doesn’t get close, you were loved so much by everyone you met. We’ve been there your whole life and now the memories we made must outlast us for the rest of us.

“We are overwhelmed by the love that has been shown to us, but now we ask that our privacy be respected.”

Mr Rogers’ family said: “Ben was an amazing, smart, talkative and witty young man. He always had a smile on his face that always lit up the room when he entered.

“He was such a loving, caring person who made time to talk to anyone who would listen, which explains why he had so many friends.

“He always offered support to anyone who needed it. It would be fair to say that he lived life to the fullest, squeezing out every ounce of pleasure that was possible.

“The loss of Ben has affected us all deeply and if we’re being honest we’re all still in shock as the gravity of what happened hasn’t really come through yet.

“Ben was our son and he was deeply loved by the whole family and we will miss him beyond words. Some of our hearts are broken, but we will do our best to keep his memory alive forever.

“We would like to thank everyone for all their kind words of love and support which are all gratefully received.”

Ben’s sister Ashleigh also paid tribute to him on social media, describing him as the “kindest soul” and the “best uncle”.

She wrote: “My sweet little brother. I’ve lost half of me and my world will never be the same.

“You were the best uncle and brother anyone could ask for, the kindest sweet soul, forever proud of you! I will love you forever, my hat.

“I ask from the bottom of my heart all his friends to respect our family and be respectful to Ben and have no problems with gatherings for him. We don’t want it, or he wouldn’t.”

South Wales Police are still appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
