A family has spoken of their devastation after “our own angel” died aged just 28, leaving behind three children.
Jacinta McDonnell, known as Cinta to her loved ones and friends, died aged just 28 in the early hours of Sunday after a brave battle with cancer.
Members of Cinta’s heartbroken family shared a series of emotional tributes on social media over the weekend when news of her death broke. The Irish Mirror reports..
Her parents, Mary and William Mears, said they were at a loss to explain how the events of the past 48 hours had affected them.
“My baby, my best friend, our beautiful angel daughter Cinta, we will never stop loving and missing you,” they wrote on Facebook.
“Our hearts are broken forever. God wanted you, but we wanted you more.

“Heaven has won the most beautiful angel. We love you so much, our beautiful girl.”
Her sister Shakira said the tragedy was something she was struggling with.
“A beautiful sister, our own angel,” she wrote poignantly.
“I will always love you. You have my heart, forever my best friend. I don’t know how to do this without you.”
These sentiments were shared by many of Cinta’s neighbors and the wider local community.
A friend spoke of how the young woman had left an indelible impression on everyone who knew her.
“This beautiful young woman, only 28 years old and just a young woman with her whole life ahead of her,” they wrote.
“It’s absolutely heartbreaking. She fought so hard to stay with her husband and their three little girls. Life can be so cruel.”
Another friend said the news of her death at Dublin’s Mater Hospital sent shockwaves through, adding that the timing of her death was particularly heartbreaking for her family and those close to her.
“Today (Sunday) her husband was supposed to be celebrating Father’s Day with her but instead he is mourning the loss of his wife. The whole nation was behind you, Cinta,” they wrote.
The late Cinta McDonnell will be buried in Ballymacormack Cemetery on Wednesday after the 11am funeral service at St Mel’s Cathedral.
She is survived by husband Ned, daughters Sherri, Shantia and Milana, mother Mary, father William, sisters Samantha, Shakira, Charmaine and Mia, brothers William, Brandon, Nathan and Leon, mother-in-law Mary, father-in-law Paddy, sisters-in-law , brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
