A giant, moon-shaped hotel with moonwalks and rover taxis could soon dominate Dubai’s skyline if architects in Canada make proposals for the $5 billion project.
At more than 600 feet tall, the Moon replica would contain several thousand luxury suites and various space attractions, according to its designers.
Some of the more unusual proposals include a low-gravity experience room, according to the Emirati newspaper the Khaleej Times.
Guests can also walk on a model of the moon’s surface and explore what the designers called a “giant working lunar colony.”
Michael Henderson, a co-designer at Moon World Resorts, said so Khaleej Times: “This technology is unique on the moon (resort). Due to agreements with third parties, I cannot disclose everything at this point.
“I can report that the astronaut suit you will be wearing on the lunar surface of the moon will provide you with some percentage of gravity reduction.”
It’s unclear whether Emirati authorities are likely to approve plans for the proposed mega-resort. (© Telegraph Media Group Ltd. 2022)
