Vanessa Feltz gives advice on family feuds on This Morning

This Morning fans were unimpressed by the advice given to ITV audiences during a phone call on Thursday of the show.

TV personality Vanessa Feltz, 60, controlled the This Morning phone during a segment with hosts Josie Gibson and Vernon Kay, who will replace Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

The ITV show asked viewers at home to call the show to clear up their family feud issues ahead of the extended Bank Holiday weekend for Easter.

The issues the presenters tackle ranged from the struggles of working with parents to the suspicions of family members who gave them Covid-19.

But when a woman who had just lost her biological mother asked how to deal with her “rude” mother-in-law, Vanessa went on to suggest that the bereaved “invite your mother-in-law to be closer to you”.

“You could also say, as my mother-in-law, I would love to have a really close relationship with you,” she said. There is a huge void in my life, are you going to enter it? ”

But ITV viewers didn’t heed the advice and took to Twitter to label it “complete nonsense”.

One fan wrote: “Is this advice! Pretend until you really make it?! No, if someone is toxic to you, cut them off! ”

Another tweeted: “So far Vanessa has just told all three women to let go of their feelings and try to have a quiet life!”

Another fan posted: “Best advice you can get… Don’t listen to advice on This Morning.”

Another fan tweeted: “Imagine how you would have to listen to advice from Vanessa in your head.”

This comes after the This Morning studio fell into turmoil on Wednesday morning, when a guest dog “ran behind” on the show in the middle of an interview with its owner.

Pup Missy went missing in the middle of the segment, when owner Beth Lee-Crowther talked about how she could talk to animals.

Host Josie suddenly asked physics Beth what Missy was thinking when she “finished a runner”.

Then the cameras panned to the kitchen area, where Missy had disappeared behind the counter, where chef Ainsley Harriet’s food lay waiting for his cooking segment later in the show.

Vernon managed to suppress a cheeky grin as he said, “I’ll be honest with you, I’ll tell you what Missy is thinking. Missy dived into Ainsley’s chicken.”

This Morning airs at 10 a.m. weekdays on ITV and ITV Hub.
