Fans of the Paddington series were completely shocked when they discovered that the Ukrainian president Zelensky voiced the main character.

Volodymyr Zelensky, 44, made headlines this past week due to the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, but the country’s incumbent president worked for 23 years as an actor and comedian before participate in politics.

Twitter and other platforms have viewed video clips and images reenacting Zelensky before becoming president of Ukraine.

One of the clips and some stills doing the rotations shows the president of Ukraine recording the voiceover for the marmalade-loving friendly bear in the Ukrainian version of the show. Paddington and Paddington 2 .

Fans were completely disappointed, many couldn’t believe their eyes.

One Twitter user said: “I don’t think President Zelensky could get any cooler, but I just found out that he is Paddington Bear’s Ukrainian accent,” said one Twitter user.

“I’m getting older today knowing that Paddington the bear in the Ukrainian film version is actually voiced by President Zelensky. Amazing,” another wrote.

A third later added: “There’s something very poetic about Zelensky being the voice of Paddington Ukraine, when thousands of Ukrainians find themselves at foreign train stations, far from home.”

2006 saw Zelensky compete and win the Ukrainian version of Dancing with the Stars, and clips have been posted on social media of the now dancing president taking the dance studio by storm.

In 2015, he starred in a TV series titled Servant of the People, where he played the president of Ukraine – which would later become a reality.
