The Fashionable Love podcast is again with a complete new season of tales. In our premiere, we introduce you to our new host, Anna Martin, who has a query for listeners: What’s the one tune that taught you about love as a teen?

In Lisa Selin Davis’s essay “What Lou Reed Taught Me About Love,” she writes about how the tune “I’ll Be Your Mirror” turned the soundtrack to her summer time romance with a floppy-haired “rocker child” who inadvertently helped her discover therapeutic. Then, we hear from Occasions employees members in regards to the songs that influenced them as teenagers, and the recollections — humorous, empowering, nostalgic — that they carry with them.

ANNA MARTIN is the host and a producer of the Fashionable Love podcast. Her center identify is “Ming Ai” — roughly translated from Mandarin to “understanding love” — which she thinks makes her a pure match for the function. Beforehand, she produced reside exhibits and podcasts at locations like Pop-Up Journal, The Moth, Slate and This American Life.
