Hamilton County: Nylo Lattimore’s father attacks murder suspect in courtroom

The father of a three-year-old who was thrown into a river after his mother was stabbed has been arrested after beating the alleged killer in court.

Nylo Lattimore’s biological father was among members of the public at the court hearing of Desean Brown, 22, who is accused of killing Nylo’s mother, Nyteisha Lattimore, in Ohio, USA, in December 2020.

Brown then allegedly took little Nylo, 3, and dumped his body in the Ohio River.

Despite an intensive search, the young man’s body was not found.

On Thursday, father Tonio Hughes is seen sneaking through the pews at the Hamilton County Courthouse.

He then moves behind the defense table and punches Brown in the right side of his head before raining down several punches before officers have a chance to restrain him.

Two deputies restrained Hughes as he attempted to continue the attack and placed him in custody, Hamilton County Sheriff’s PIO Kyla Woods said.

Tonio Hughes is seen slamming the suspected killer of his son Nylo Lattimore during a pre-trial hearing on Thursday

At a later hearing, Hughes was sentenced to seven days in Hamilton County jail for contempt of court.

Presiding Judge Megan Shanahan said “this behavior will not be tolerated in the courthouse.”

Family friend Faith Burton told the local outlet Fox19 : “Everything in him, just the pain and everything took over.

“He did what I think any of us would do.”

Ms Burton said Mr Hughes was left with grief at the disappearance and presumed death of his boy.

A family friend claimed Mr Hughes did what any parent would do

She says his heartbreak worsened because his body was not recovered.

Ms Burton said: “I had to keep on the phone late into the night because he’s on the sidelines, you know?”

“He’s about to.”

She continued, “I couldn’t live without my kid either, you know? So I understand his feelings, I understand why he played in court today.

The suspect allegedly killed little Nylo in revenge after his mother miscarried

Nylo’s mother, Lyteisha, was murdered on December 5 and her body was found a week later in the early hours of December 12, according to Hamilton County District Attorney Joe Deters.

Prosecutors say her body was disposed of after spending five days in a nearby apartment block.

Mr Deters added that the defendant bought a body bag on eBay before hiring an Uber to take him and Ms Lattimore to the Ohio River.

He told the driver he was moving home and stuffed the bag with his clothes.

The three-year-old’s blood was found on a child’s blanket near his mother’s body.

His stroller was also found near his mother’s body.

One line of inquiry suggested by prosecutors is that Ms. Lattimore miscarried Brown’s child and the defendant sought revenge on her baby boy Nylo for “killing her baby,” according to Cincinnati Police Specialist Kimberly Kelly .

Brown faces the death penalty if found guilty at the conclusion of his upcoming trial at the Hamilton County Justice Center.
