Fatto A Mano in Hove is giving away pizzas for free

Fatto A Mano was stuffed all day and had a queue outside his restaurant in Church Street, Hove.

The restaurant, which has three restaurants in Brighton and Hove, said it wanted to reward customers for their loyalty since the pandemic.

There were pizzas from 12 noon yesterday until they were sold out at 7:30 in the evening.

Martin Lilley, head of the Hove branch, said: “We simply reward all our customers, we have done it at our other sites.

“We continued the post-Covid tradition. We want people to enjoy free pizza and keep coming back and enjoying our food.”

Speaking of the day for the staff, Martin said: “The day is challenging but so much fun. We have the whole team working and the excitement has been fantastic.

“The build up to date has been great. We all knew it was looming and now it’s finally here, we’re smashing it.

“We’ll do this until the evening and then celebrate big.”

Fatto A Mano invited The Argus to try a free pizza on his special day.

Four chefs worked like a well-oiled machine, firing hand-made pizzas into their rotating pizza oven.

While staff, some carrying up to four pizzas at a time, were busy serving drinks and greeting customers.

Customers were in and out on a bright and sunny day in Hove – when you might think it’s more spring than February.

The restaurant offered its customers a choice of four different pizzas – a classic margherita, diavola with spicy salami and chili, the popular Neapolitan salsiccia e friarielli, or their vegan margherita.

Fatto a Mano was founded in Brighton in 2015.

The other two restaurants are on London Road and Gloucester Road in North Laine.

Last year it opened its first restaurant in London at King’s Cross.

Fatto A Mano means “made by hand” in Italian.
