Coronation Street fans have been anticipating a possible kidnapping in the near future, after watching Monday night’s episodes.
The first of the two seasons ends with Linda Hancock telling Chesney Brown that she wants Joseph to come and live with her in Portugal.
Linda (Jacqueline Leonard) seems to care about her grandson and his upbringing in Weatherfield, especially after Fiz Brown (Jennie McAlpine) tells her the young man stole money from her wallet.
Chesney (Sam Aston) looks stunned as Linda says, “I’m talking about Joseph coming to live with me forever…”
“No,” Chesney told her as he explained that Joseph enjoyed living with him and Gemma and the other children.
“Don’t be selfish, just listen. He will get my attention. Joseph was another kid when he lived with me and Katie, he was a little ray of sunshine, now look at him.” Linda argued.
“You’re delusional if you think I’ll just let my son go! Now get out!” Chesney shouted back.
Corrie fans have been worried about what Linda might have, and have gathered rumors that she will even suggest Joseph go to a different country with her.
“OMG Linda is seriously tryingna get Joseph to live with her forever? Surely Ches disagrees though right? #Corrie(sic),” one person tweeted.
Another viewer posted: “Grandma can’t just stand up and think a kid is going to live in a foreign country far from the family he knows. #Corrie.”
A third said: “#Corrie I feel a kid grabbing”, while another asked: “Will this go to court or kidnap #Corrie.”
Another added: “Linda is a bit cheeky isn’t she. Offered to take Chesney’s son away from him #Corrie.”
Another Corrie fan begged: “Don’t let her take Joseph away Ches #Corrie.”
