Ballerina John Deere Lanz who lit TikTok will be a guest star at the Knockbridge Vintage rally taking place on September 11.
rish county music legend Declan Nerney will headline the return event after a two-year hiatus due to Covid.
The annual rally and ‘Working Day’ are held in the heart of Knockbridge, just outside Dundalk, Co. Louth.
There will be plenty to keep everyone entertained and a very enjoyable family day with events being arranged, with an endless list of highlights and new attractions added this year.
The club is delighted to welcome back Declan Nerney, one of Ireland’s leading country music entertainers.
Declan will be on stage at 3 p.m. to entertain everyone with his multitude of chart hits. There will be a competition of wits so if you have moves that can turn heads, here is your chance to enter for the chance to win the top prize, an exciting €100.
The club is also delighted to have two well-known national bands join this year – Dundalk Ukulele Strummers and Stedfast Shoes Brass Band.
This day will provide thousands of visitors with the opportunity to see how agriculture was practiced over the years and for the elders to meet and reminisce about the industry. Owners of classic tractors, cars and bikes will go everywhere to participate.
Tractors and vintage machinery will be put through their paces in the “live” working field, which promises to be a spectacular sight with a horse-driven threshing mill, steam engine, screen Classic mashup, potato farming, horse plow and vintage plowing, all happening on the day.
The John Deere Lanz self-propelled baler that has proven a Tik Tok attraction will also be on display.
Traditional crafts such as basket weaving, blacksmithing, wood turning and tin crafts will all be seen throughout the event. There will also be a model cottage and vintage farmhouse to see during the day.
Children will be catered for in the play corner with entertainment including inflatable games, soft play area, magic show, craft workshop, face painting, bubble modeling and many more novel events .
Why not bring your four-legged friend to the Dog Show, which always attracts a large number of participants. Categories include Puppies Under 12 Months, Custodians Under 12, Large Dogs, Small Dogs, Dogs Over 7 Years, and Dogs that Judge Wants to Take Home! Lots of prizes for grabbing activities.
Test your and your friends’ pulling power by joining a team in the Tug of War Competition.
The vintage fashion show will feature some great vintage pieces that locals have kindly donated to model. This promises to be a great event and with many familiar faces making up a great range of colors and styles in costumes and hats it’s definitely not to be missed.
There will be a flower arrangement show by Veronica McMahon, who is nationally and internationally renowned and guaranteed to delight everyone with her exquisite designs.
Gathering Drum, the leading rhythm event moderator will run workshops throughout the day. Joe has a lot of experience and this session is guaranteed to be enjoyable for everyone.
There will be an Irish Historian, who will display an extensive collection of military memorabilia. There will also be a special exhibition dedicated to Michael Collins.

The popular Tea Stall offers freshly cooked food and delicious homemade baked goods throughout the day.
Whether you’re a die-hard vintage enthusiast or not, there’s something for everyone at the Knockbridge Vintage Rally – it’s a day you don’t want to miss. Gates will open to the public at 12pm.
