Fern Britton has talked about having a family with ex-husband Phil Vickery and how they were at “the last chance” to have children.
The former This Morning presenter, 64, opened up about her IVF experience during her first marriage to Clive Jones and then the problems she faced with TV chef Phil when they want to have children of their own.
Speaking to Kate Thornton on the latest episode of the White Wine Question Time podcast, Fern details her 43-year-old pregnancy and how she thinks it’s time to have children in her second marriage.
Fern was married to first husband Clive from 1988 to 1998, during which time she had twins Jack and Harry after conceiving through IVF.
The couple also have a daughter, Grace.

Fern tells Kate how expensive IVF is and how difficult the journey is.
The TV presenter’s author said: “Anyone who’s been through IVF knows about those drugs and the enormity of building your hopes and destroying them, it’s extreme. period”.
She described Grace as a “miracle” baby, until her twin boys were three years old.
Fern added: “Then unfortunately my marriage fell apart when she was 5 months old [old].
“So it was tough so I had a year of really digging, but then a year later I met Phil.
“We got married one year, which is two years after Gracie was born.
“And then there’s the last chance, I always say it’s late night shopping right before the doors close, Winnie arrives.
“So that’s exciting and then we have Winnie.”

Their daughter Winnie arrived a year later, in 2001.
In January 2020, the couple announced that their marriage had ended in a statement posted on Twitter.
Fern wrote at the time: “After more than 20 years of happiness together, Phil and I have decided to go our separate ways.
“We will always share a great friendship and our lovely children.
“We would appreciate it if our privacy was respected at this time.
“Thank you for your continued kindness and support.” (sic)
