As part of Phillip’s 40th anniversary celebration, ITV the boss asked Fern to join the celebration of the father-of-two and she seemed to happily accept.
In what appeared to be a pre-recorded message, Fern told Phillip: “Fifty years is an incredible milestone and it’s time for you to stop, look back and see all you’ve accomplished and proud of it.
“So I’m wishing you a very happy future. Congratulations and keep going,” she added with a smile on her face.
The clip certainly took viewers by surprise as it’s certainly no secret that the famous Fern and Phillip have fallen out after she abruptly broke free of the film. This morning after hosting the show together for seven years.
It was a shock that Fern was only halfway through her £1.5m deal with ITV when she decided to make the announcement in 2009.

At the time, her friends suggested that she felt “underrated by ITV” and that she was “living in Phil’s shadow”.
There were also claims that she had discovered she was being paid £250,000 a year less than her co-host and reported that Phil was earning three times Fern’s salary when the duo presented Mr. and Mrs together.
It is thought he earns £45,000 an hour while Fern earns just £15,000.
However, Fern firmly denied that she decided to leave This Morning because of salary.
When she announced she was leaving the ITV daytime show, Fern spoke to the entire This Morning team and did not specifically mention her co-host.
And when Phil was interviewed four years later, he admitted that he and Fern no longer talked.
Asked by Heat in 2013 if he was still talking to Fern, he would reply: “No, not really.
“We were on the show and mates at the time, but we weren’t really. I saw Phil [Fern’s then-husband, chef Phil Vickery] when he joined This Morning… But we don’t contact each other now. “
And in his autobiography, Life Is What You Make It, Phil mentioned a heated argument he had with Fern that he believed was the final nail in the coffin.
Phillip said he and Fern had an argument in a makeup room in 2009 over the content of a show – and he was “stunned” when she accused him of “interference”.
Phil said: “I went back to the make-up room and calmly said, ‘Please don’t do that to me again’.
“I think, for whatever reason, that’s where Fern decided she didn’t want to do This Morning anymore.”
