EA Sports has confirmed that Russian teams will be dropped from FIFA 22 following their invasion of Ukraine.

EA Sports confirmed through a statement: “EA Sports stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and, like so many voices throughout the footballing world, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine.”

“Together with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports has begun the processes to remove the Russian national team and all Russian clubs from EA Sports FIFA products including: FIFA 22 , FIFA Mobile and FIFA online.

“We are also actively evaluating changes related to other areas of our game.

“We will update our community on any action taken and thank players for their patience as we work through these updates.”

There are currently three Russian domestic clubs on FIFA 22, including CSKA Moscow, Lokomotiv Moscow and Spartak Moscow, with Russia’s men’s national team also featured on the game, but this content will be removed from FIFA 22. after the next database update.

EA Sports has removed several individuals from FIFA 22 this year, including Mason Greenwood and Marc Overmars, but this is the first time that an entire country and its domestic clubs have been removed from an EA Sports title FIFA in the life of the game .
