FIFA Ultimate Team cards have been quietly downgraded – and fans are furious

FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) players are outraged to discover that a number of promotional cards have been downgraded without warning from developer EA Sports.

Some promotional cards previously had their stats lowered, although EA Sports said it was just a visual bug in FIFA 23.

While the company claims that the cards’ performance was unaffected by the bug, many players believe the footballers weren’t keeping up.

This is a big problem for fans who have spent a large amount of hard-earned – or purchased – FUT Coins in exchange for these upgraded cards.

As reported by RealSport101EA Sports hasn’t confirmed the latest batch of downgrades, which saw some attributes drop more than 10 points.

This is a significant downgrade for players and can greatly impact players’ game results.

So far, fans have noticed four affected maps, all of which were released as part of different promotions.

EA Sports releases promo cards throughout the year that boost stats for players compared to their base cards.

Players purchase these cards from the in-game transfer market with the expectation that they will keep these improved stats.

So far, fans have spotted four cards being quietly downgraded by EA Sports, but more cards could be affected.

The following cards are known to us so far:

• rule breaker – Franck Ribery
• rule breaker – Edin Dzeko
• Road to Knockout – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
• Winter Wildcard – Gabriel Jesus

Sometimes EA Sports will intentionally downgrade cards when a player’s performance has changed.

This happened most notably recently with Ronaldo, who was downgraded by two points following his departure to Al-Nassr.

However, this did not affect cards that players already owned and only changed the rating of cards that will appear in FUT packs in the future.
