Filmmaker Paul Haggis ordered to pay $7.5 million in rape case

A jury ordered Oscar-winning filmmaker Paul Haggis on Thursday to pay at least $7.5 million (£6.4 million) to a woman who has accused him of rape. in a number of MeToo-era cases that have brought Hollywood names to trial this fall.

The jury also decided that additional punitive damages should be awarded, but the amount will be decided later.
