FF15 moved away from classic turn-based combat formulas and introduced fans to a new real-time, action-focused playstyle.

This new playstyle was well received by fans and is one of the reasons Final Fantasy 7 Remake was so successful.

Final Fantasy 16 was first announced in September 2020, and since then there has been a lot of speculation about the release date.

In the last trailer drop before the Game Awards, we were given a summer 2023 release window.

However, Naoki Yoshida, best known for creating the MMO Final Fantasy 14, also teased that fans would be surprised at how early in the season it would be released.

We now know that Final Fantasy 16 will be released June 22, 2022being the only known platform for the release PlayStation 5

The Final Fantasy series is known for its cross-platform releases, and this could indicate that it’s a timed exclusive for the PlayStation console.

Yoshida took the stage during The Game Awards to make the announcement and unveil the latest trailer called Revenge.

Along with a series of cutscenes and some story details, it also featured some of the most intense combat sequences we’ve seen in trailers to date.

Final Fantasy 16 was recently declared “Mature” in South Korea, leading many to believe the release date wasn’t far off.

The adult rating indicates the game may contain “violence, sexual content, and disturbing situations.”

Final Fantasy games are known for tackling more mature themes, especially when it comes to violent content.

Despite the fantasy setting, many games show the harsh realities and violence of war.

This includes main characters who die at certain points and can be removed from the games.
