Final Fantasy 7 news will be announced in June as part of the anniversary celebration

We can expect some news Final Fantasy 7 in June as part of Square Enix’s celebrations of the series’ 25th anniversary.

That’s according to Square’s Tetsuya Nomura, who said he expects the news next month.

“Next month we plan to release information [Final Fantasy] 7 for the 25th anniversary,” Nomura said during a promotional stream for mobile-based spin-off The First Soldier. (Thanks, RPGsite).

“I wonder how much I can talk about it [right now],” Nomura continued. “We’ll be releasing various things over the next month.”

While Nomura never mentioned whether this news could contain information for the next episode of the remake, people are hoping it could mean actual news about Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about it, and considering Part 1 was released back in 2020, followed by Intergrade in 2021, it would be nice to get at least some info.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 1 sold 3.5 million copies in its first three days on the market in April 2020. By August, the game had sold more than five million copies.
