Final Fantasy XI Delays New Gluttony Revival Chapter to April

March update for Final Fantasy XI is changing direction a bit. While the team is moving forward with plans to celebrate the game’s 20th anniversary, they also need a little more time to release the sequel to Voracious Resurgence.

Chapter 7 of Voracious Resurgence will continue in April instead of March, but there are several new events and spins on the regular spins that have happened this month. The development team encountered some unexpected bugs and determined that the best approach to delivering a quality experience was to push it back just a little longer than expected.

The latest version starts with Ambuscade, with the first being a fight against Antica and volume two, a version of the battle of Treant. Prepare for a remixed treant battle, with tweaked mechanics and lower boss HP. This will make things more fun and easier to do. One of the changes is the boss’s Chelate ability, which consumes buff food. Players who use the alter ego as a tank will be in good form, as when Chelate now hits the alter ego, there is a bonus as long as you, the player control, are currently holding a food buffs.

Spins to objectives for the Record of Eminence are also included in the update, as are monster spawn changes and level difference penalties removed in certain areas. Details of these changes include opening a previously blocked slot in Crawler’s Nest and adding some monsters for which you can get sample and job points. These are purportedly a little easier this time around, in the hopes of making this a welcome camping spot for more players.

The game will also receive a number of comeback events this week, with a Double Simulacra Segment Campaign, Operation Delve -PLUS!, Surf Walk, Adoulin Dial, and Skirmish Frenzy Campaign – PLUS! and some other shows that start on Saturdays and run through the end of March.
