Fire in Shepherd’s Bush: Large fire on the 12th floor of a high-rise building near Grenfell Tower

Half an apartment on the 12th floor of the apartment block is on fire, around 60 firefighters and eight fire engines are fighting the fire

Around 60 firefighters are fighting a fire in a high-rise building in London.

Eight fire engines are also on scene at Queensdale Crescent in Shephard’s Bush, near Grenfell Tower.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) has confirmed half an apartment on the 12th floor of the block is on fire.

An eyewitness said she heard sirens coming from west London and felt “physically ill” after seeing how close the fire is to Grenfell Tower, with photos showing smoke coming from a building with Grenfell in the foreground.

The fire brigade was called to the scene at 9:23 a.m. this morning.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, the fire department added.

According to the LFB, more than 30,999 emergency calls were made to the fire department in the W11 postcode.
