Firefighters called Littlehampton after lightning struck a house

Firefighters were called to the scene after lightning struck the home.

Several fire engines from West Sussex Fire and Rescue were sighted at the scene of the incident, with a firefighter seen inspecting a hole in a roof.

Some of the crews who took part in the Littlehampton incident wore special equipment.

It comes after a second night of stormy weather hit Sussex, with another yellow weather warning for thunderstorms issued by the Met Office late in the night.

More storms are forecast in Brighton tomorrow and Thursday, with a return to calmer conditions not expected until the weekend.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue has been contacted for comment.
