First, check out Harry Styles and Florence Pugh in the Don’t Worry Darling trailer

A new trailer offers a first glimpse of Harry Styles and Florence Pugh’s passionate on-screen relationship in the upcoming Don’t Worry Darling.

The film, directed by Olivia Wilde, is set in an isolated, utopian community in the 1950s California desert and follows an unhappy housewife and her husband, who harbors a dark secret.

Little Women star Pugh plays housewife Alice, while former One Direction singer Styles stars as husband Jack in the psychological thriller, which hits theaters September 23.

The trailer begins with what appears to be a carefree life, with Styles and Pugh laughing and kissing at a party with friends.

Later, as the pair cuddle in bed, Pugh’s character says, “You and me?” to which Styles replies, “Always. You and me.”

During the day, the women of the community have to do the housework while the men go to work for the municipal company Victory.

Voiceover by actor Chris Pine, who plays Victory CEO Frank, says: “All of you, women, us men, we ask a lot. We ask for strength. Eat at home, cleaned a house. And above all discretion.”

All does not seem to be okay, however, as Pugh’s character begins to question what the project is really up to.

Her marital bliss seems to crumble as she ponders, “What is actually happening? What if this place is dangerous?” which caused Styles’ character to thrash around and yell, “Stop it!”

The video moves quickly from scenes of lavish parties and hot intimate moments to Pugh’s character, who looks distraught and appears to be being pursued by people in red overalls as she runs into the desert.

Don’t Worry Darling is the latest project from Olivia Wilde (Ian West/PA)

Wilde posted the trailer on Instagram and wrote, “I’m so proud of this team and can’t wait to show you guys what we’ve done together. #dontworrydarling”

The 38-year-old director began dating 28-year-old Styles after casting him on the project.

The star-studded cast also includes Wilde, Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne and Nick Kroll.

Wilde was recently served legal papers on behalf of her ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis while she appeared onstage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas to promote Don’t Worry Darling.

A source for Ted Lasso star Sudeikis said he had “no prior knowledge of the time or place” that the custody documents for their two children would be served as such, and that he “would never condone her being like this .” will be delivered in an inappropriate manner”.

Don’t Worry Darling will premiere on September 23 after filming was halted several times during the pandemic. First, check out Harry Styles and Florence Pugh in the Don’t Worry Darling trailer
