THIS is the man who was brutally blasted to death in west Dublin this morning.
Michael Tormey, 40, was shot multiple times at a home in the Thomond Road area of Ballyfermot around 5 am.
Mr Tormey was pronounced dead at the scene after receiving several gunshot wounds.
His body has been moved to the City Mortuary, Whitehall, where an autopsy will be performed this afternoon by State Pathologist Margot Bolster.
No arrests have been made in connection with the deadly gun attack.
A close friend of the shooting victim said the entire community was “in complete shock”.
He described Mr Tormey as a “family gentleman”.
Sinn Fein councilor Daithi Doolan described the country’s latest shooting as “an attack on the entire community”.

Mr Doolan said: “I would like to condemn whoever has been involved in this terrible act and encourage those who are involved in this type of criminal activity to stop.
“Such incidents affect everyone in the community and we’ve seen too much violence on the streets of Ballyfermot lately.
“I would urge anyone with information on this incident to come see Gardai.
“It is essential that those involved are held accountable and face justice for their actions.”
Local Fianna Fail councilor Daithi De Roiste also urged anyone with information to come forward immediately.
Mr De Roiste added: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the man who lost his life in this terrible incident.
“I would encourage anyone with any information or who may notice anything suspicious to tell gardeners what they know.”
The scene remained closed this afternoon as technicians conducted an autopsy.
Gardai is appealing to anyone with information regarding the shooting to go on.
