A MONEY savings expert has revealed five easy ways for motorists to save hundreds of pounds on fuel as prices continue to rise.
Krishnan Kara has made it his mission to help Brits feel the pressure at the pump by sharing his smart money-saving tips.
The TikToker has re-educated road users by encouraging them to perform commonly overlooked car checks to save their juice.
He also suggested driving more carefully to save money in the long run.
Krishnan’s first helpful tip was to check the tire pressure – because fuel consumption increases dramatically when it’s not on point.
If your wheels are 20 percent under-inflated, you could be wasting between 5 and 10 percent of fuel.
This is because it creates further drag on the roads and creates heat and friction that makes your car work harder.
He then told motorists to clean up their act – and their car boots, as unnecessary clutter increases resistance to your vehicle again.
The content creator said that carrying an extra 50kg of weight reduces the number of miles per gallon you can travel by two percent.
Cars are designed to be aerodynamic, but some things increase drag and create fuel-sapping drag—including items inside.

This means that your car uses more gas because it is less streamlined.
Krishnan’s third top tip is that people just drive slowly and steadily to win the fuel economy race.
Every time you brake, valuable energy is lost due to the heat generated by the brake pads and discs.
Revving your engine more than necessary creates a similar problem, so riding smoothly with ease is an essential step.
He says you can waste a whopping 25 percent more gas if you drive at 80 instead of 70 mph.
The savings expert then ironically suggested that motorists buy a new set of tyres.
But there is a method to his madness – because they account for 20 percent of your fuel consumption.
This is because, as mentioned earlier, by doing extra work for your engine, you’re using extra fuel.
With a new set of wheels, he ensures that the rolling resistance of your vehicle is as low as possible, which promises a perfect ride.
And Krishnan also advised Brits to make the most of car stop-start features to save some money.
When your vehicle is stationary and the engine is idling, e.g. B. waiting in traffic, you waste your fuel for no reason.
So instead of wasting fuel, take advantage of the helpful feature that automatically shuts off the engine when a car is stationary.
This can save you up to 7 percent on fuel, which adds up to a significant amount over time.
