Ezra Miller, the actor best known for playing The Flash in the Justice League films, has been arrested following an incident at a karaoke bar in Hawaii.
According to police, the Hollywood star yelled obscenities, grabbed the microphone from a singing woman and lunged at a man playing darts.
Miller had trouble with people singing Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s ballad Shallow at Margarita Village, a bar populated by mostly locals late Sunday in Hilo, a small town on the Big Island, the Hawaii Deputy Police Chief said , Kenneth Quiocho.
The song upset Miller, Mr Quiocho said.
Miller, described in a news release as a 29-year-old visitor from Vermont, has been the source of police calls in Hilo 10 times since March 7, Mr. Quiocho said, adding it’s not clear how long Miller has been on the island .
There are “Manini” incidents such as filming people at a gas station, refusing to leave the sidewalk of a restaurant and fighting with people, Mr Quiocho said, using a Hawaiian pidgin term that can mean small or small.
“He’s an actor, but to me he’s not that famous,” said Mr. Quiocho. “He’s not Ben Affleck, let’s put it that way.”
Police refer to Miller with the pronoun “he,” while Miller’s Instagram uses “she/they.”
Miller was arrested just after midnight Monday and charged with disorderly conduct and harassment.
Miller was released after posting $500 bail.
The actor’s agent and attorneys did not immediately respond Tuesday for comment.
Credited as the first LGBT+ person to have a starring role in a major superhero film, Miller has played hyperverbal outcasts in films such as Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, We Need To Talk About Kevin and The Perks To Be A Wallflower.
Miller also plays a key role in the upcoming Harry Potter universe film Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets Of Dumbledore.
