Florence + The Machine was forced to postpone the rest of her UK tour after lead singer Florence Welch discovered she was performing with a broken foot.

his indie rock band kicked off their Dance Fever tour at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris on 14 November and have performed in Cardiff and a show in London’s O2 Arena in 11 days planned. before it has to be cancelled.

Ahead of the band’s second performance in London on Saturday, Welsh revealed the news of her injury on Twitter, saying she was “so heartbroken” because it was her favorite show. they used to participate.

She wrote: “I’m sorry to say that after the X-ray, it looks like I broke my leg while dancing last night.

“It’s not in my nature to postpone a show, and certainly not a UK tour, but I am in pain and as dancers know, dancing with an injury is not is a good idea. And was asked not to perform to avoid further damage.

“Hold your ticket. We’re doing our best to reschedule these dates for next year and we’ll let you know as soon as possible.

“I am heartbroken because the Dance Fever tour is my favorite show we have ever hosted. Communion with you. Your beautiful face shines.

“I love you guys so much and I’m so sorry to anyone who was disappointed. My heart hurts. I can’t wait to be back on my feet and back in your arms.

Welch and the band will continue the tour with venues in Bournemouth, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow and Nottingham before concluding at 3 Arena in Dublin on 30 November.

The new performance is related to the group’s fifth studio album, which was released in May of this year.

Titled Dance Fever, the disc was previewed with songs My Love, King, Free and Heaven Is Here, with production assistance from Jack Antonoff and Glass Animals head Dave Bayley.

The group has also partnered with charity Choose Love with a donation of £1 from each ticket for their work to support refugees and displaced people around the world.
