Mayweather shows no signs of age while training in the ring

Floyd Mayweather was responding to the commentary team’s praise for his “psychological warfare” while in the ring during his exhibition match with Don Moore.

The boxing legend attended his third exhibition in the Middle East, having previously defeated Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa and YouTube star Logan Paul. Mayweather fell, dominating his former sparring partner Moore, though his opponent managed to hold on and survive the eight-round distance.

Commentators, who witnessed the match up close while analyzing the ringside event, praised the star for his boxing brain and ability to perform mind games. Mayweather traded punches with Moore near the announcers’ position before turning his head and quickly yelling back at them, “I’ll do this.”

Stunned by the interaction, the pair laughed alongside the crowd and the boxing legend, who was clearly enjoying his final appearance in the ring. Mayweather was clearly keen to put on a show for the fans who had traveled to the Etihad Arena at short notice.

After the sixth round, Mayweather’s antics continued to steal the ring girl’s job, holding up her card and sharing an in-ring dance during the break. He kept a smile throughout the fight, even narrating his own shots to his opponent, who appeared to be struggling with the pace of the proceedings.

Mayweather and Moore hugged after the final bell in a gesture of utmost respect before the boxing legend showered his counterpart with praise. “I want to thank everyone in the UAE, the media and everyone who covered this fight. This is one of the best countries in the world,” Mayweather said after the fight.

“Don Moore is still unbeaten, both of us are still unbeaten. I will bring another fight back to the UAE this year. It’s a secret. I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag now. But we have an opponent. and me choose the UAE.”

Mayweather was understandably in a celebratory mood, having potentially made as much as $100 million for just sixteen minutes of in-ring action. He also received $1 million ahead of the duel to promote the fight at a press conference alongside UFC legend Anderson Silva.

The event has been moved to a new venue previously planned at a helipad at the Burj Al Arab Hotel. Mayweather later admitted the event was a rollercoaster ride for all fighters.

“It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for all the fighters,” Mayweather said at a press conference after yesterday’s weigh-in. “I want to commend the fighters for just being patient. Things like that happen in life, we go through ups, we go through downs, but we stand strong, stand together and we made it.

“I want to thank everyone across the UAE for their patience and all the fighters up here who are amazing and the sponsors.”
