Floyd Mayweather will face Don Moore in an exhibition match on May 14 at a helipad in Dubai.
The retired ring legend was due to face YouTube star Money Kicks in February, but talks broke up weeks before the two men were due to head to the ring. Mayweather will now take on Moore, who has won 18 of his 19 pro fights – but has never faced an opponent with a winning record.
Moore last fought in 2018, a year after Mayweather’s last professional fight Conor McGregor, and enjoyed a low profile career. His fight with Mayweather will be over eight rounds but will not be counted due to his exhibition status.
UFC legend Anderson Silva will be featured on the card when he takes on Brazilian MMA veteran Bruno Machado. He is joined on the undercard by former world boxing champion Badou Jack.
It’s unclear if Mayweather’s fight will count, but it could follow his clash with Logan Paul last summer, who had no official winner past the eight-round distance.
Mayweather said after his victory over Paul that he would not consider returning to the paid ranks, but would continue to pursue money-making exhibition fights while beating longtime rival Manny Pacquiao.
