Football rumours: Phil Foden agrees to new Man City deal as Chelsea chase Southampton star Kyle Walker-Peters

What the newspapers say
Phil Foden and Manchester City have reportedly agreed a new deal for the 22-year-old midfielder. According to the Daily Mail, the two parties have negotiated a deal worth around £225,000 a week – more than seven times his current salary. The deal is rumored to run for six years, with an official announcement expected in the coming days.
Staying with City, The Times reports that club bosses have opened talks with Belgian club Anderlecht over the defender Sergio Gomez. The 21-year-old is seen as a potential backup option should City fail to land their main target, Brighton’s Marc Cucurella.

According to the Daily Mail, Brighton have already found a replacement for Cucurella at RB Leipzig should he depart Angelino. Citing Sky Sports Germany, the newspaper say the move makes sense for the 25-year-old after the Bundesliga side took over from Hoffenheim for five years from Germany international David Raum.
The Guardian report Chelsea are interested in signing the 25-year-old Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters.
