Former Emmerdale star Adam Thomas ‘signs up to act in the serious ballroom’

With a new series set to take place in the fall, Adam Thomas is the first celebrity said to have ‘signed up’ for the BBC’s hit dance show.

Former Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas is rumored to be the first celebrity to ‘sign up’ for this year’s serious dance.

Adam, 33, is said to be in talks with BBC bosses to star in series 20 of the dance show, which will air this fall.

He played Adam Barton on the ITV soap until he left in 2018, and his brother Ryan, 37, stars in Coronation Street.

The star placed third in the 2016 I’m A Celebrity contest… Get me out of here!

In 2019, Adam was announced as the host of the I’m A Celeb spin-off.

A source told Sun : “Adam had what it took to win and was practicing his moves. And he has a huge female fan base.

“This was done briefly but it’s happening this year.”

Adam has two children with his wife, Caroline Daly, a son named Teddy, seven years old, and a daughter named Elsie-Rosie, three years old.

The former soap star, who was born in Manchester, opened a restaurant and bar in Stockport called The Spinn in 2019.

He announced this year that he will be starring in the BBC One reboot of Waterloo Road, playing the father of his real-life niece Scarlett Thomas.

Adam will reprise his most beloved role as Donte Charles, and Scarlett will be the grown-up child of the character and his on-screen wife Chlo Charles.

His twin brother, Scott, appeared in the second series of Love Island in 2016

It is reported that Strictly’s boss is also looking to sign Ryan, Adam’s brother, who has played Jason Grimshaw on Coronation Street for 16 years.

Ryan Thomas is engaged to former TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh, 30.

The couple, who met on Bear Gryll’s Famous Island in 2017, are expecting their second child together any time soon.

Their first child, Roman, was born in March 2020, and Ryan has another daughter, Scarlett, from his former relationship with Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien.
