Formula E extends partnership with Motorsport Games, rFactor 2

Motorsport Games today confirmed that rFactor 2 will become the official sim racing platform of Formula E, the world’s premier all-electric open-wheel motorsport series. This partnership is an extension of the existing agreement between Motorsport Games and Formula E.
All 11 official teams and all 22 drivers and cars from the current Formula E season are available for rFactor 2 on PC starting today. The platform has now offered every season of Formula E since 2018.
“Formula E is one of the fastest growing motorsport series and we couldn’t be more excited and honored to bring it to full life in rFactor 2,” said Dmitry Kozko, CEO of Motorsport Games, in a statement released along with the announcement became. “rFactor 2 continues to be the best-in-class simulation platform on the market. This addition to its robust range of motorsport series will greatly enhance the experience and offerings available to our players. With our expertise in creating authentic racing simulations and remarkable esports events, coupled with the rising popularity of Formula E, we know our partnership will achieve any goal our teams may have.”
Mercedes leaves the championship at the end of this season.
Formula E will also launch an esports series powered by rFactor 2’s in-game competition platform. This follows previous eSports experiences from the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, when Formula E was one of several motorsports that temporarily transitioned to eSports as a replacement for real-world racing. The Formula E Race at Home Challenge was a nine-week esports competition held in 2020 and attended by all teams and drivers from the 2019-20 Formula E season.
