Forspoken Director promises patch to improve performance, playability and more

Forspoken director Takeshi Aramaki has confirmed that a patch is currently in the works to fix a variety of issues following the game’s mixed reception.
In an opinion shared on TwitterAramaki wrote: “We’ve listened to all of your feedback and are hard at work on an upcoming patch that will include improvements to overall performance, graphics, playability, and general updates and fixes to game content on PS5 and various PC hardware configurations.”
Aramaki didn’t go into specifics, but Forspoken has faced criticism from both a gameplay and technical perspective since launch, with Digital Foundry having particularly harsh words for the PC release, calling it a “confusing, deeply disappointing port” in its technical review .
There’s no indication of an ETA for the newly promised patch, but Aramaki says the team is “committed to making Forspoken the most enjoyable experience,” with more information on the update’s schedule, which is set to be released “as soon as possible.”
Despite the game’s initial difficulties, Eurogamer contributor Henry Stockdale was “pleasantly surprised” in his review of Forspoken, writing: “This story takes time to get going and while the writing doesn’t always land, there’s plenty to enjoy, even though it’s numerous ups and downs make it difficult to recommend Forspoken across the board. Still, there are elements here that are worth checking out, thanks to its robust character development, detailed worldbuilding, and stylish combat.”
