Fortnite is coming back to iOS next week – but there’s a hitch

FORTNITE was blocked on iOS for a while, but it found a way back.
Nvidia has announced that Fortnite will launch on GeForce NOW in a limited-time closed beta on the Android app and the Safari web browser on iOS.
Basically, you can stream mobile games through the cloud using Apple’s Safari web browser to access the GeForce Now service.
Android users have less complicated process and can just use GeForce NOW Android app.
How to play Fortnite on iOS
Registration for the beta is now open, and you don’t need a paid GeForce NOW membership to participate.
You will need to create an Nvidia account if you don’t already have one, you can do it here.
Once you’re logged in, finish Fortnite Limited Time Closed Beta Signup Form.
You’ll be asked to choose the device you want to play on, but you can choose more than one, so feel free to choose Android and iOS if you’re on the fence.
The final hurdle is signing up for a GeForce NOW membership – Free or Priority.
Paid members won’t take precedence over players on the free tier – Nvidia says that both types of memberships offer an equal opportunity to participate in the closed beta.
Why is Fortnite not available on iOS?
Apple pulled Fortnite from the App Store in 2020 after Epic Games added direct payment option to avoid being cut by the iPhone maker by 30%.
Since then, we have seen a protracted legal battle between the two companies, with Fortnite faces a 5 year ban on iOS.
The outlook is pretty bleak for gamers who only play games on iPad or iPhone.
But basically, Nvidia has found a solution for iOS users, and you can start playing next week with luck.
