Forza Horizon returns to the Xbox Store 6 years after it was delisted

Six years after the delisting, the original Forza Horizon briefly reappeared on the Xbox Store on Saturday, according to a multitude of Twitter users who have managed to successfully access the popular Xbox 360 racing title.
Forza Horizon was initially dropped from all storefronts in 2016, but observant fans reported that the game appeared briefly for $19.99 before disappearing again a few hours later. It’s unknown if the relisting is an indication that Xbox is planning to bring the game back to the store, or if someone at Xbox just made a mistake that caused it to reappear for a while.
In any case, the eventual removal of Forza games is standard practice for Microsoft as third-party licensing deals for the series’ vast array of cars, tracks, songs, and more come to an end. In September 2021, Forza Motorsport 7 became the last game in the franchise to be delisted – 4 years after its release on Xbox One.
Developer Turn10 is hard at work on an upcoming reboot of the mainline Forza Motorsport series, though news about the game has been very slow to leak since its original reveal in 2020. What we do know so far is that it will serve as a fresh start for the franchise and leverage the power of the Xbox Series X – meaning the game won’t end up on Xbox One. It will also be released on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
In the meantime, fans can get their hands on the team’s well-received sandbox racer, Forza Horizon 5, which we gave the perfect score in our review, calling it “a deep and nuanced car nirvana for revheads and car geeks.” for endless collecting, tinkering” and experimenting.”
