FOUR children’s products have been recalled from the Wish website due to a choking hazard, a choking hazard, and the presence of a hazardous chemical.
A safety issue has been identified by the Competition and Consumer Commission regarding children’s mermaid costumes already on the Wish platform.
There is a risk of strangulation due to the non-removable straps at the neck of the garment.
There are around 13 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
Another Halloween costume featuring a pumpkin with an orange hat has been recalled.
There is a risk of choking as small children may swallow the plug.

Another purple and black outfit that comes with a cat ear headband also poses a choking hazard, with around four products sold in Ireland.

CCPC also discovered a safety issue with Thermometer Pacifiers available on the Wish platform.
They found the presence of bisphenol A (BPA) in the neck of the pacifier.

“If you believe you may have purchased an affected product, discontinue use immediately and discard the product immediately,” the CCPC said.
“People purchasing these products from the Wish platform will be notified of this by Wish.”
This comes as a huge range of meat products is being withdrawn from a Cork farm because the business has not been approved to process meat for eight months.
All products of animal origin from Ballinwillin House and Ballinwillin House Farm, Prabelstown, Co Cork are being recalled because they were processed in an unapproved and not officially controlled facility.
