Four fire engines at the scene of the fire in Maresfield

The fire broke out around 10.30am this morning on Maresfield High Street, near Uckfield.

The fire brigade was alerted at 10:41 a.m. and is still on site.

A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Services said: “Crews from Uckfield, Crowborough, Heathfield and Lewes attended.

“Firefighters used four SCBAs, a hose reel and one of seven foam to extinguish a fire that started in an oil tank on the side of the property.

“There were no casualties and crews are currently muting the scene and making sure the scene is safe.”
