Four wanted by police for blasts in Rye, Bexhill and Hastings

A SEARCH is underway for four men suspected of involvement in a series of 70 window smashing and arson attacks.

East Sussex Police have been searching for the men in connection with the attacks on houses in Rye, Bexhill and Hastings since early June.

Officials plan to track and question: Charlie Banks, 23, Joshua Lemon, 21, Adam Charlton, 18, and Haydyn Russell, 18.

Four arrests have already been made in connection with the incidents.

Bradley Froud, 18, of Frewyn Close, St Leonards, appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court on Friday July 15.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on August 12 and charged with arson on July 8 and 12 at Benson Way, Rye and July 13 at Ferring Way, Rye, whether that life was intended.

Froud was also charged with smashing windows in Ferring Way and unlawful possession of two knives.

Two 16-year-old boys were arrested on July 14 on suspicion of vandalism and later released on police bail.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on July 5 on suspicion of criminal damage and conspiracy to commit extortion and was released on police bail pending investigations.

Detective Sergeant Greg Montier said: “This is an active investigation and we have already made four arrests.

“The four men we are still looking for are well known in the affected areas and we are very interested in hearing from anyone with information on their whereabouts.”
